I did a number (ten) of pieces this last week featuring everyone’s favorite robot (Bathos). I cut the paper (bristol) out of the edges of a piece from another project. They were inked with a technical pen and then colored with drawing ink. I mounted them to some wood I cut down for this purpose, which I then attacked with an ink wash to get the soundwaves and prison bars. The size is about 3″x7″ (except for the two wider pieces, of course) and there are holes drilled in the top for mounting. I snapped the photographs quickly, which is why the flash is reflected so badly off of the varnish I used to seal them. Doing proper lighting and finding a tripod felt like the kind of work that would prevent these from ever being photographed at all. Sacrifices all around, on the house. Enjoy:
